The most famous verse in the book of Amos speaks of a famine. Yes the prophets are always bringing bad news, no one wanted to hear them in their day, no one wants to hear them now. Yet the Word of Yah is continually prefaced as they begin to speak (See John 1:1).
Now as then, we rely on our own sphere of intelligence, we reason away what things we find distasteful, we gravitate to where we are placed at ease. We run to help the poor, to take in the refugee, we hide under a blanket of good deeds. Resting in the notion that we’ve filled our obligation, we somehow know yet fail to admit that rebellion is mingled in acts of kindness.
(We have missed the mark, people. The Western world is embroiled in twisted, guilt ridden notions of do-goodism. The results have been horrendous. Those who benefited from us are about to turn on us here in America. We need only look to parts of Europe, but especially South Africa at the present time, to preview what is planned for us.)
Famines are sent as corrective measures. It is because of the present and ongoing famine, mind you this famine is not one of parched crops and emaciated figures, but of something more subtle.
Who is it that shows no compassion toward another when basic human needs (the necessities of life) which we all share, are are in some way lacking? I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave something to drink, out in the elements, you took me in, naked and you gave me clothes. We are the most generous in the world in this regard.
Call no man unclean is another one. “Call no man unclean” has been extrapolated clear out away of any semblance of it’s original intent. In our zeal, we have never bothered to understand why this dream was given in the first place. We prefer what we suppose it to mean over what it actually means. We should care because of the consequences we are witnessing all over the Western world. It was never meant to approve of giving our daughters to foreign men, because everyone is clean!
Understand it was a defilement back then, to teach, to be the company of, you dare not eat with an uncircumcised gentile. Taking this stance obviously hinders the spread of the Gospel to every living creature. Just like refusing their unkosher food would be an insult. Sharing of food is a universal symbol of hospitality and acceptance. Failure to partake would end the good will of the householder, setting a negative tone among those who you were witnessing to according to the knowledge of Y’shua the Messiah.
Our lovefeasts are nice, but they are a substitute. The famine is of hearing the Words of Yah. Hearing, shemah, hear and obey. The term “word(s)” found in Amos 8:11 is H1697. It has to do with this famine sent by Yahweh Himself, He said, “…I will send a famine in the land…” A famine is widespread need, which allowed to continue unabated is fatal. This particular famine precedes a time of trouble against a sinful kingdom, and of course, sin is transgression of the law.
Perhaps a hope in a pretribulation rapture, believing that no evil would come upon them. What is this that they refuse to or cannot hear, what is it that they are ignoring? Deuteronomy 4:13 “And He declared unto you His covenant, which He commanded you to perform, the ten (words) commandments (H1697), and He wrote them upon two tables of stone.”
Said famine is fatal in this manner if it is not lifted. “All of the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.” When we think of the sword we should see it as military against this haughty and overconfident people. Yet we will not be completely destroyed. Potent weapons are at the ready, aimed at us, the West, even as the Americans, the Israelis, the British and other parts of Europe unite, they drew a line against the Eastern powers after the recognition of Jerusalem.
Consider that major fulfillment of prophecy is taking place. For example, we have the historic first official visit to Jerusalem by the British monarchy, in the person of Prince William, a member of the line of King David. British (meaning covenant man)1st Viscount, Field Marshal, Edmund Henry Hynman Allenby, liberated Jerusalem from the Turks in 1917, entering on foot through “David’s Gate” on 11 December.
It was stated a bit earlier in a letter known as the Balfour Declaration, dated 2 November 2017, “His Majesty’s government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people…” Alas: British High Commissioner in Palestine, Sir Herbert Samuel lamented how a number of Jewish “new arrivals” were tainted by “the pernicious doctrine of Bolshevism” The New Yorker 2 November 2017
First the British now the Americans. President Donald Trump as we know, courageously and correctly recognized Jerusalem as the “Capitol of Israel.” The American embassy, the President announced, will be officially moved to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv on the 70th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel, 14 May 2018. Trump is expected to attend the ceremony. A commemorative Temple half shekel coin was minted featuring Cyrus and Trump (though Trump is an Israelite) with the Temple on the reverse in honor of the occasion. The Temple was rebuilt after the decree of Cyrus, they project the Temple will be rebuilt following the Trump decree.
(Of course these efforts escalate an already volatile situation over the Jerusalem issue. There is every reason to believe the opponents will react violently, sufficiently enough to cause a cancellation of the proposed visits as the goal.)
This is the 100 year’s process of the reestablishment of Jerusalem as the future capitol of the world. It is irrefutable evidence of direct involvement of the Ephraim and Manasseh nations in crucial and historical matters concerning Jerusalem. It is imperative that the United States of America now declares this official in the face of the rest of the world. The Israelis alone would not have succeeded. Importantly this represents the beginning fulfillment of the prophecy of the “two sticks” the Ephraim and Judah reunion.
I present this as further proof that the Western nations are the Israel people. As The Mighty Salvation, Y’shua said through the John that we must return to our first love. Oh the substitute lovefeasts are nice, but it is high time return to our first love, that day we received our marriage agreement and begin now to honor and to guard it. Cry out toward Heaven, to end the famine, that we might again hear, shemah, to hear and to do, the Words, the Commandments of Yah!
